I’m catching up on my blog posts, so this one’s a little late. This last June, I got to see another of Book-It Theater’s fine productions, The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay based off the book by the same title written by Michael Chabon with the theater adaptation directed by Myra Platt. I admit it was a bit meta to be an artist doing sketches of a play about artists, but it was a lot of fun! Great performances and a great season. Can’t wait for next year!

Book-It Theater: The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
Comic books? What are those? Kavalier and Clay have ambitions Fleshing out the “Escapist.” Pitching the idea. It felt very meta sketching about a play about making comics. Even though it’s pitch black in the theater, it’s a lot of fun to do these gestures! Planning for the radio drama. A creepy arch nemesis emerges. A secret is uncovered. Antarctica and remembering the good times. It’s the Escapist! Some head concepts for our two protagonists. A new life ahead.
